Flask hosting in Europe

Push your Flask project and Faable finds your app, serves it with gunicorn and runs it from the EU. Two files in a repository are enough.

$ git push origin main

→ Faable · build started (Flask detected)
→ gunicorn app:app --bind 0.0.0.0:$PORT
→ Live at https://your-api.faable.link

What you get with Flask on Faable

A production server, not app.run()

Faable serves your app with gunicorn, never with Flask's development server. It adds gunicorn if it is missing from your dependencies.

No start command to write

Faable looks for the module that defines app = Flask(...), from main.py and app.py to src/main.py, and binds it to the right host and port.

Secrets outside the repository

Set DATABASE_URL and your API keys from the dashboard or the CLI, then read them from the environment. They are there on every restart.

Connect your GitHub repo, that's it

From repository to running app in minutes. Faable handles the build, the infrastructure, and everything in between.

Connect your GitHub repo

Link your repository in a couple of clicks. No Dockerfiles, no YAML, no servers to provision.

02

Push your code

Every push triggers an automatic build and deploy. Faable detects your stack and ships it for you.

Flask on Faable: common questions

Do I need a Dockerfile to host Flask?

No. A requirements.txt, pyproject.toml or Pipfile plus a module defining app = Flask(...) is all Faable needs. A Dockerfile is an option on Hobby and Pro.

Do I have to remove app.run() from my code?

No. Faable never calls it, because gunicorn serves your app. Keep it under if __name__ == "__main__" for local development.

Can I host a Flask app for free?

Yes, with no credit card. The Free plan runs each app on 0.6 vCPU and 512 MB of memory, and the app sleeps after 30 minutes without requests and wakes on the next one. Hobby is 15 € a month.

Where is my app hosted?

In the EU, with GDPR compliance. Your app is served at <app>.faable.link with free SSL, and you can add your own domain on any plan.
